Greening the Meeting

Bringing people together for a meeting like Texas Plastic Pollution Symposium can create significant environmental impacts. As professionals in our field, it is important for the Mission-Aransas Reserve and the University of Texas Marine Science Institute to lead by example. The following list highlights the steps we’ve taken to reduce the impact of TxPPS 2022:

  • Reusable bags for meeting materials
  • Reusable nametag wallets
  • Limited paper use through duplex printing where possible
  • Using materials with as much recycled content as possible
  • Providing electronic copies of meeting materials to registered participants
  • Email communication with registered participants
  • Contracting with local vendors whenever possible

SPECIAL NOTE: Save a tree and view our program online! This year in order to reduce our ecological footprint we’re skipping the paper programs and posting the program prior to the meeting. QR codes linked to the program will also be posted around the event so you can get a digital copy.
